Has it really been nearly a year since I blogged? I am a bad, bad updater. So sorry.

There are changes coming and they’ll be a surprise to me as well as you. I’ll try to keep all 1 of the readers here in the loop.

So blogging has taken a back seat, perhaps even been stashed in the trunk for the past year because of grad school. I can’t promise to blog more in the New Year – resolutions rarely work out for me – but I can promise to try.

It’s been c-c-c-cold in central Florida this past week. Freezing temperatures at night, highs only in the 50s during the day. Our house is 100 years old and leaks like crazy despite the plastic sheeting I put up on the windows so we spend a lot of time shivering in front of the space heater.

Jonah has these cute footie pajamas that he is *this* close to growing out of. Last night he put the Santa hat on with the red pajamas and created “Santa Jonah.” It was pretty cute.

Nadia continues to amaze us with her verbal skills and is doing really well with potty training. I turned my back on her a few days ago and she decided to do this with a marker.

I’ve become obsessed with Pinterest. I spend too much time there when I should be finishing up on my Christmas knitting. But it’s also been useful – I made these projects all in the past week due to links I stumbled across on the site.

PW’s Cinnamon buns with “Dad Snacks” nuts and a handmade bow.

The most AMAZING biscuit recipe ever made with egg, cheese and turkey bacon. Yum.

Knitting Catch-up

Some of you may know that I began taking classes toward getting my speech-language pathology degree in January. That keeps me busy, to be sure. But I’m still squeezing in time for knitting, even at the expense of taking new photos of the kids.

So to catch you all up – here are some recent projects:

Another elephant for a friend’s new baby boy.

Nadia’s birthday blanket (ravelry link – you must be logged in to view the pattern) made from yarn that I spun.

Handspun 3/1 rib socks that ended up being too big because I didn’t check my gauge. Der.

Citron handspun and hand-dyed shawlette from the new Winter Knitty. This is cashmere and it’s my favorite FO so far.

Birthday dress (ravelry link) for Nadia featuring my crummy sewing skills. This one was fun to make – I’ll probably try it again.

Birthday crown for Nadia that she refused to wear yesterday.

Drop-stitch scarf for a dear friend who needed a hug.

Finally, another Poppy doll, this time for Nadia for her birthday.

Nadia climbed into our laundry basket the other day when it had our comforter in there and declared that she was going to sleep. So of course I had to snap a few shots of the total cuteness.

She also won’t keep her clothes on lately. She insists on sitting on the potty for only for two seconds – then she’s done.

Just a quick shot snapped from my car as I was driving it on A1A. Love from Florida!
